May 2nd 2012: Findings from the latest HBSC/WHO international report to be released

WHO is set to publish findings from the 2009/10 HBSC International survey on May 2nd 2012. The report presents data from 39 countries on over 60 health and social indicators.

HBSC’s flagship policy report contributes to our understanding of the social determinants of young people’s health, by highlighting inequalities by gender, age, socioeconomic conditions and geography. Through this report, the HBSC study aims to supply up-to-date information needed by policy-makers, nongovernmental organizations, and professionals in sectors such as health, education, social services, justice and recreation, to protect and promote young people’s health.

Data from past reports has been used the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the European Commission to set health targets.

The report will be launched at an event in Edinburgh. Speaker presentations will be available on this website after May 2.
