Sisko Honkala, a member of HBSC’s team in Finland, has recently been involved in work to establish a study of school-aged children in Kuwait, based on the HBSC survey instrument and methodology.
This paper provides an overview of how the HBSC survey instrument, and the World Health Organisation’s Health Promoting Schools programme, can be used within a Kuwaiti context as part of a toolkit to help make school environments healthier. These approaches must take into account not only the schoolchildren but also teachers, parents and the community in general.
