HBSC England: Principal Investigator invited to 10 Downing Street workshop on child well-being

Fiona Brooks, Co-Principal Investigator of HBSC England, was recently invited to Number 10 Downing Street to take part in a workshop on child well-being'. This workshop, titled 'Building Character and Raising Wellbeing in Young People', brought national and international experts on child well-being together with key policy makers from the Department of Health, Department of Education, Public Health England and the Cabinet Office.

Professor Brooks talked about the work that HBSC England have been doing with the Department of Health on resilience and young people by drawing on HBSC's data. She also drew attention to the need for young people to have access to constructive and supporting relationships with key adults, including parents and teachers, as a way of enhancing young peoples' health assets.
