HBSC features in new WHO report

Professor Candace Currie, HBSC's International Coordinator and Principal Investigator of HBSC Scotland, is a Task Group member of a new report published last week by the World Health Organization – ‘Review of social determinants and the health divide in the WHO European Region: final report’. Professor Currie is also editor of the associated volume ‘Improving the lives of children and young people: case studies from Europe Volume 2. Childhood'.

HBSC and the work of network members feature heavily in both of these publications, providing data in the review and case studies from several HBSC countries.

Writing in the report's foreward, Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe states "We must act on the new evidence provided by this review for better health outcomes for present and future generations. This is both our opportunity and our challenge."
