St Andrews WHO Collaborating Centre is recruiting: International Child and Adolescent Health Policy Officer

St Andrews School of Medicine - home to HBSC's International Coordinating Centre - is currently recruiting a full-time International Child and Adolescent Health Policy Officer to join the newly established WHO Collaborating Centre.

The successful applicant will implement strategies to advance the centre’s objectives in areas such as child and adolescent health and wellbeing.  They will also facilitate communication among major stakeholders in the field and coordinate efforts on various cross-cutting policy and programmatic initiatives.

The centre is looking for an experienced senior professional who can demonstrate diplomatic skill and discretion, works with energy and commitment, and has affinity with the mission of the WHO CC. Applicants should have considerable proven experience in policy work with an international organisation and have substantial experience in a similar role. You will also need to show evidence of the following: strong communication and interpersonal skills, a high level of motivation and initiative, a firm interest in the policy process, a determination to explore issues thoroughly, excellent organisational skills and the ability to think analytically and work well as part of a team. The role will report to the WHO CC Director, and International Coordinator of the HBSC study, Professor Candace Currie OBE. This position provides an excellent opportunity for career development.
