Each year, leading pediatric specialists from dozens of countries gather for the Excellence in Pediatrics conference, which focuses on monitoring the latest trends and challenges in child and adolescent health. This year, its 9th, the conference was held in Vienna from the 7-9th December and was organised in collaboration with the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study.
Dr Joanna Inchley, HBSC's International Coordinator, delivered an opening keynote which reviewed the latest trends and evidence in childhood obesity. A number of other HBSC members presented up to date international findings on young people's health at population levels.
The conference included over 100 scientific presentations across 5 parallel tracks covering: Pediatrics, Neonatology, Adolescents Medicine, Health Policy, and Professional Development.
